Terms of Use

The deal for the Wired Diff app and the client portal, in plain words. Your client agreement still comes first.

Last updated October 23, 2026

These terms cover the Wired Diff app (on the web and on iPhone) and the Wired Different client portal. Together we call them "the app". By signing in, you agree to these terms.

"We", "us" and "Wired Different" mean the Wired Different business, run by Joshua Neiszner ("Josh") in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. "You" means the person signing in and the business they sign in for.

The short version

  • The app is for Wired Different clients and the people they add. Josh sets up every account.
  • Your client agreement with us is the main deal. If these terms and your agreement ever disagree, your agreement wins.
  • Design previews are drafts we share with you in confidence. Please don't pass them around outside your business.
  • When you approve something in the app, that counts as your written approval, just like signing off by email.
  • Invoices are paid on the web through Stripe, not through Apple. Nothing is ever sold inside the iPhone app.
  • How we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy.

Who can use it

The app is made for businesses and adults. You need to be 18 or older and either a Wired Different client or someone a client has asked us to add. We decide who gets an account, and we can remove access for anyone who should no longer have it, for example someone who has left your business.

You're responsible for the people you ask us to add, and for what happens under your sign-in. Keep access to your email (where sign-in codes go) and your devices to yourself. If you think someone else got into your account, tell us right away at hello@wireddiff.ca.

Your client agreement comes first

The work we do for you, its price, payment terms, deadlines, who owns what and how either of us can end the work are set out in your client agreement (and any quotes, proposals or contracts you signed with us). The app is a way to see and run that work. If anything in these terms conflicts with your agreement, your agreement applies.

Design previews and approvals

  • Previews are confidential drafts. Mockups, updates and anything else we send you to review are shared with you in confidence. Don't share, post, sell or hand them to anyone outside your business, including other designers or developers, unless we say it's okay. Some previews carry a watermark and a time limit; please don't try to get around them.
  • Who owns them. Until a design is paid for under your client agreement, it stays ours. Once your project is paid in full, ownership works the way your agreement says.
  • Comments. Comments and replies you leave are shared with Josh and the other people on your account. Keep them about the work.
  • Approvals. When you press approve (or ask for changes) in the app, that is your written decision on that piece of work, the same as signing off by email. If you approve by mistake, you can press Undo while the preview is still open, or tell us as soon as you can.
  • Signing documents. Contracts are signed through our own signing page, which collects your initials and signature and keeps a record of them. Our Privacy Policy explains what that record holds.

Paying us

Invoices, deposits and care plans are paid on the web through Stripe, using the payment link we send or the button in the app, which opens your browser. Apple is not involved in these payments and nothing is sold inside the iPhone app. Your client agreement sets the amounts, due dates and what happens if a payment is late.

Using it properly

Please don't:

  • try to get into another client's information, or into parts of the app you haven't been given;
  • test, probe or attack the app's security, or overload it on purpose;
  • copy, take apart or resell the app, or use it to build a competing product;
  • upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share;
  • use it to send spam or to harass anyone.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@wireddiff.ca instead of using it. We're grateful when people do.

What we provide

We work hard to keep the app running and your information safe, and we watch it around the clock. Still, we provide it "as is" and "as available": it may sometimes be down for maintenance, change, or get things wrong. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we'll tell you before we take away something your plan includes.

Analytics, reports and other numbers in the app are our best measure and can be incomplete. Please don't rely on them alone for decisions where a mistake would be costly.

Responsibility

To the extent the law allows:

  • we aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost data you could have backed up, or lost business opportunities, that come from using the app or not being able to use it;
  • our total responsibility for anything to do with the app is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem happened.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law that can't be signed away.

Ending access

You can stop using the app at any time. To delete your account, open You in the app, then Delete my account, or email hello@wireddiff.ca. We remove your sign-in within 30 days, as our Privacy Policy explains.

We may pause or end your access if you break these terms, if your client agreement ends, or if your account hasn't been paid as your agreement requires. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. Ending access doesn't change what either of us still owes the other under your client agreement.

The iPhone app and Apple

If you got the app from Apple's App Store, these extra points apply. They're required by Apple.

  • These terms are between you and Wired Different, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • You can use the app on any Apple device you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for maintaining and supporting the app. Apple has no duty to provide support for it. For help, email hello@wireddiff.ca or visit wireddiff.ca/app.
  • If the app doesn't work as any warranty that applies says it should, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for it (the app is free). Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty responsibility for the app. Any other claims, losses or costs from a warranty failure are ours to deal with, not Apple's.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, such as product liability claims, claims that it doesn't meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If anyone claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and resolving that claim.
  • You confirm you aren't located in a country subject to a Canadian or US government embargo, or designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you aren't on any Canadian or US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • If you use the app, you also need to follow the terms of any other service it relies on, such as your mobile carrier.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If we disagree about something, please talk to us first; most things get sorted out with a phone call. If we can't sort it out, the courts of Alberta will decide, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to your local courts.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.
